Soft, fluffy fiber produced by cotton plant. A bushy mallow plant or small tree bearing bolls containing seeds with many long fluffy fibers.
Polyester
The most widely used synthetic fiber in the USA. Polyester fibers are often spun together with natural fibers, e.g., cotton, to produce a cloth with blended properties.
Nylon
Strong synthetic fiber with good dyeing ability. They have outstanding resistance to chemicals and solvents, are not attacked by moths or mildew, and are non-allergenic.
Propylene
Any of various thermoplastic resins that are polymers. They are had and tough and are used to make molded articles and fibers.
Polyurethane
A special utility fabric (typically polyester, sometimes cotton or polyblend) that has been adhesive heat laminated on one side to a layer of polyurethane film.
