Polyester
The most widely used synthetic fiber in the USA. Polyester fibers are often spun together with natural fibers, e.g., cotton, to produce a cloth with blended properties.
Polyurethane
A special utility fabric (typically polyester, sometimes cotton or polyblend) that has been adhesive heat laminated on one side to a layer of polyurethane film.
Description: Stain proof cotton terrycloth surface: 80% cotton, 20% polyester. Backing: Polyurethane. Skirting: 76% polyester, 8% lycra, 16% nylon.
